What is the role?   
The Senior Operational Excellence Engineer II is responsible for driving performance improvement across manufacturing operations, through the integration of lean principles, industrial engineering methodologies and strategies. This rule will translate business strategy into executable initiatives by optimizing flow, establishing standard times, improving capacity and space utilization and deploying structured problem-solving across the value stream. The Senior Operational & Industrial engineer plays a critical role in designing efficient processes enabling data-driven decision making and delivering measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people. Working cross functionally, the Senior engineer will lead value stream analysis, develop future state designs, implement lean systems, supported by digital (lean 4.0) capabilities. The role will also support the deployment of strategic priorities through aligned project portfolios ensuring tangible business impact and sustained operational excellence. 

What are the key responsibilities?     
• Design layouts and optimize material flow and space utilization.
• Define Takt time, line balancing and labor models.
• Analyse and improve process flows, constraints, and line efficiency.
• Support new product introductions with line design and capacity analysis.
• Lead high-impact Operational Excellence (OpEx) and Lean transformation projects.
• Implement and promote Lean principles, tools, and continuous improvement culture.
• Develop and track productivity, labor efficiency, and KPI dashboards.
• Facilitates and encourages the production team in the use of lean tools e.g., Fishbone, 5 Whys, Is/Is Not, A3s, DMAIC, PDCA, 3c’s, 6S, SMED standard work so a culture of waste reduction and continuous Improvement can be enabled.  
• Support integration of ERP, MES, Power BI, and digital shop floor systems.
• Use data analytics to identify and drive improvement opportunities.
• Facilitate training, mentoring, and Kaizen events for internal Lean capability.
• Communicate project updates and engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Act as a Change Agent, driving and sustaining improvements at the cell/line level.
• Benchmark with other industries who are implementing Enterprise Excellence change. 

What education and experience are required?  
• Minimum of 5-7 year experience in a medical process development of manufacturing environment. 
• 2-4 years’ experience with defining and executing continuous improvement initiatives.  
• Minimum of a primary degree in Industrial Engineering /Engineering or technological discipline.  
• Relevant experience of continuous improvement with minimum of green belt lean six sigma training. 

What key skills will make you great at the role? 
• A black belt in Lean six sigma is an advantage  
• Knowledge of value stream layouts, standard time, future factory layout, digital transformation, Lean 4.0  
• Meticulous attention to detail with a methodical and analytical approach with excellent problem-solving tool skillsets.  
• Very strong organizational and Project Management Skills.  
• Critical thinker  
• Knowledge of Design Verification and Process Validations, particularly as it pertains to equipment and manufacturing processes.  
• Excellent planning, organizing and communication skills.  
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-functional team is a key requirement.  
• Ability to lead complex problem solving and cost/capacity improvement projects with cross functional teams.  
• Ability to present ideas and concepts clearly and effectively.  
• Familiar and comfortable with standard medical device documentation.  
• Ability to grasp and statistically analyze data.  
• Ability to engage with all stakeholders.  
• Highly motivated self-starter with an innovative mindset.  
• Understanding of ISO 13485 and FDA Design and Development Processes. 
• A desire for lifelong learning.
