What is the role?
As an MSL at Aerogen you will enable the safe and effective use of Aerogen's devices through effective scientific interactions and communications with relevant key opinion leaders. This fosters a deep understanding of our clinical data to drive positive impact for patients and HCPs and better understanding of the landscape for commercial opportunities.
You will plan and execute a strategy for your territory and develop strong relationships with KOLs enabling engagement and support for, new evidence generation, peer to peer meetings and training or support for further educational cascade and science exchange. As we expand our product and geographical footprint, we will continue to focus on generating new evidence. As an MSL at Aerogen you will be at the forefront of these developments and will contribute to our purpose of transforming patient care.

Integrity: The MSLs are always expected to provide balanced, objective, and scientifically accurate responses to off-label questions only when unsolicited by HCPs
Teamwork: MSLs often work cross-functionally with commercial and marketing teams, but with clearly defined boundaries to maintain scientific integrity and compliance. This includes extensive peer to peer programme which helps increase HCP knowledge related to aerosol therapy across the hospital
Innovation: we complete many Advisory boards which help gather science-driven insights from KOLs to help shape our medical strategy and identify unmet clinical evidence needs.
Ambition: MSLs are no longer seen as a support function. Their strategic role helps shape business strategies gathering insights from HCPs and leading
If you are wondering what a typical day might look like, here are some ideas:
No day is the same for an MSL! You might be meeting with physicians to discuss clinical data, educating the sales team on emerging studies, or listening to experts discuss new innovations in respiratory therapy at conferences. The role is never dull, always changing and highly engaging!
What education and experience are required?
• Minimum of MSc however advanced scientific training and academic credentials generally consisting of PhD, MD, Pharm D preferred
• Strong knowledge of respiratory diseases, treatments, and the medical device industry.
What key skills will make you great at the role?
• You will be comfortable both getting down to the details, when you create or examine clinical and scientific documentation and coming up a level to tell a story when you present new ideas, concepts, issues, and successes.
• You can demonstrate your ability to be conversant with analytical models and correlate experimental to theoretical results.
• You have a positive track record of building effective relationships at multiple levels both within and outside your organisation and driving outcomes with determination as well as poise, tact, and diplomacy.
• You partner with your colleagues internally, align on expected outcomes as well as roles and responsibilities so that everyone is empowered to achieve their respective goals.
• You are comfortable with making decisions and understand the need to seek approval from others when required
• You are comfortable with standard technology and set yourself up so that you can work both when you are in your office or travelling.
• You either have prior clinical experience in situations where direct/or indirect decision-making authority for patient care was demonstrated (e.g., direct patient care, treatment protocol development, therapy guidelines development, traditional clinical practice settings) or medical liaison experience.
• You assisted in writing, submission, and subsequent publication of peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts.
• You have published in internationally recognized scientific peer-reviewed journals
• You can demonstrate your experience with presentations at national and international conferences
• You have proven experience in designing and monitoring investigator-initiated clinical trials.
• You are conversant with Good Clinical Practice
Environmental Conditions:
• This is a field based role with a minimum expected time in field of 60% rising to 80% depending on projects development & execution support activities. Scientific. The role will involve frequent domestic and some international travel.
• Changing priorities; long hours occasionally required to complete projects. Handle multiple projects with tight deadlines. Work after hours is occasionally required to complete work tasks and meet deadlines.
• Will work from home office and other typical office environments, with work also performed in labs and hospital clinical environments.
