What is the role?
The Medical Affairs Associate supports the execution of Medical Affairs activities that advance the scientific and medical objectives of Aerogen. The role contributes to evidence generation, scientific communication, medical information, educational initiatives, and medical content development while ensuring activities are accurate, evidence-based, ethical, and compliant.
The Medical Affairs Associate collaborates with cross-functional teams to support the generation, interpretation, and dissemination of scientific evidence and contributes to the maintenance of medical knowledge and resources.
What are the key responsibilities?
• Support evidence generation activities, including literature reviews, evidence gap assessments, publication planning support, and development of evidence summaries.
• Participate in the medical review of promotional and scientific materials to ensure accuracy, balance, consistency with available evidence, and compliance with applicable regulations, company policies, and codes of practice.
• Support medical information activities, including responding to medical inquiries, preparing evidence-based responses, maintaining medical information resources, and contributing to the continuous improvement of medical information processes
• Assist in the development and review of scientific and educational materials, ensuring they are accurate, balanced, evidence-based, and compliant with company policies and applicable regulations.
• Contribute to medical writing activities including scientific summaries, educational materials, conference content, training materials, publications, posters, and presentations.
• Support Medical Affairs education and training initiatives for internal stakeholders.
• Maintain medical literature repositories, evidence databases, reference libraries, and document management systems in accordance with good documentation practices.
• Monitor scientific literature and communicate relevant developments relating to Aerogen products, therapeutic areas, and competitor activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Affairs, and R&D to support aligned and compliant medical activities.
• Provide scientific support to internal stakeholders and field-based personnel as required.
• Support Clinical Affairs activities as needed.
What education and experience are required?
• Master’s degree in biomedical engineering, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, Medicine, or another relevant scientific discipline.
• Experience (through industry, postgraduate research, internships or equivalent) in Medical Affairs, scientific research, healthcare, or the medical device/pharmaceutical industry is desirable.
• Understanding of evidence-based medicine, scientific literature evaluation, and medical writing principles.
• Knowledge of medical device regulations and Medical Affairs activities is advantageous.
