What is the role?
The Data and AI Analyst will join Aerogen's ITIS department and will own data and AI-driven solutions within ITIS, turning business data into decision-ready insight and building intelligent automation across the organisation. The successful candidate will design and maintain Power BI dashboards and data models, develop and support Power Platform applications (Power Apps and Power Automate), and actively apply AI tools to improve data quality, analysis, and business processes - all while ensuring governance, security, and compliance, and working closely with stakeholders across the business.
What are the key responsibilities?
• Partner with stakeholders across the business to gather, analyse, and prioritise data and reporting requirements, translating them into technical solutions.
• Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports, including data modelling, DAX measures, and connections to Dataverse, SharePoint, SQL, and other data sources.
• Design, develop, and deploy business applications using Power Apps (Canvas & Model-Driven Apps), and automate workflows using Power Automate to improve efficiency across business operations.
• Apply AI tools and techniques (e.g. Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Power Platform AI Builder) to improve data analysis, automate repetitive tasks, and identify new opportunities for AI-driven solutions across the business.
• Extract, cleanse, and transform data from multiple source systems, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reports and dashboards.
• Ensure governance, security, and compliance best practices are followed within Power Platform applications and all data solutions.
• Stay current with developments in Power Platform, SharePoint, and AI/data tools, proactively recommending new tools and methodologies to enhance solutions.
• Document solutions, and provide training and support to end users on new dashboards, applications, and automations.
What education and experience are required?
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Analytics, Information Technology, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a data analyst, business intelligence, or Power Platform developer role, with hands-on delivery of Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate solutions.
• Demonstrated experience applying AI tools (e.g. Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to real business problems, not just casual use.
What key skills will make you great at the role?
• Advanced Power BI skills: DAX, data modelling, Power Query (M), and performance optimisation of dashboards.
• Strong SQL skills, with experience querying and shaping data from relational databases, Dataverse, SharePoint, and other sources.
• Practical, hands-on experience using AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, or similar) to analyse data, build automations, or generate insights - able to speak to specific examples, not just familiarity.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Dataverse, SharePoint, or other databases as the backend data storage model and connectors, and building Power Apps (Canvas & Model-Driven) and Power Automate flows.
• Basic scripting or programming ability (e.g. Python) for data manipulation, automation, or working with AI/ML tools is a strong plus.
• Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance principles, particularly within Microsoft Power Platform and Dataverse.
• Experience in collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into solutions and reports that add value and deliver insights to the organisation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proven ability to work independently and within a team, demonstrating strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
