Recognising global impact in respiratory care
Aerogen is delighted to announce that it has received the 2026 AmCham US–Ireland Business Award for Global Impact at the AmCham Annual Dinner, held on 28 May 2026 at the Clayton Burlington Hotel, Dublin. The award, presented by the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland (AmCham) in partnership with EY Ireland and IDA Ireland, with The Irish Times as media partner, recognises individuals, teams and organisations that have made a significant, positive impact on global markets or society through innovation, research and development, or advanced manufacturing. The award was announced by Michael Lohan, CEO of IDA Ireland, and accepted on behalf of Aerogen by Ciara Power, Director of Global Corporate Communications.
Aerogen was recognised for the Aerogen Solo project – a vibrating mesh nebuliser platform designed and developed in Ireland that enables enhanced aerosol drug delivery across multiple respiratory care settings, from intensive care units, emergency departments, neonatal care and transport settings. Already widely adopted across hospitals in the United States and active in more than 80 countries worldwide, the Aerogen Solo supports clinicians in delivering inhaled therapy to some of the most critically ill patients, without interrupting ventilation.
The AmCham Global Impact Award is one of the most prestigious honours in the Irish business calendar, celebrating the strength of the US–Ireland trade and investment relationship. Aerogen’s win was featured in The Irish Times as part of AmCham’s Annual Dinner coverage and was presented in front of an audience of more than 700 senior leaders and guests.
AmCham described the project as demonstrating "how Irish engineering, manufacturing excellence and talent, when integrated with US clinical adoption, education and global health partnerships, can deliver meaningful societal and economic value at scale."
"What makes this recognition so special is that it reflects the journey Aerogen has been on over the past 27 years. From our beginnings in Galway to supporting more than 30 million patients worldwide, this award recognises not only the impact of our technology, but the power of collaboration between Irish innovation, manufacturing excellence and US clinical leadership. We are incredibly proud of what this award represents for Aerogen, for Ireland, and for the patients and healthcare professionals we serve around the world" commented Ciara Power, Director, Global Corporate Communications.
This recognition builds on Aerogen’s long-standing track record of award-winning innovation, including 12 consecutive Zenith Awards and two major honours at the 2025 Galway Chamber Business Awards. It reflects the company’s continued commitment to advancing respiratory care through technology developed and manufactured in Ireland for patients around the world.
