Job Summary

Building & testing of electromechanical medical device prototypes and design iterations. Good documentation competency required. Knowledge of metallurgy, plastics, adhesives and assembly required. Process Validation experience required. Rapidly growing multi-award winning company.

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Setting up experimental rigs
  • Preparing samples for development tests
  • Setting such samples up on a range of different functional test rigs
  • Managing and supervising test lots on various electro and mechanical test set ups.
  • Documenting all results and presenting data in a concise and accurate manner.
  • Writing test protocols and reports
  • Supporting engineering personnel in various project activities

Specific Requirements

  • Ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong scientific and technical awareness with an appetite to investigate and learn
  • Understanding of ISO 13485 and FDA design and development processes
  • Knowledge of design verification process and systems
  • Proficiency in use of desktop software applications such as MS office
  • Good time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with good interpersonal skills
  • Methodical and analytical approach to work

Environmental Conditions:

Typical medical device design and development environment with work also performed in development labs and manufacturing areas in addition to customer/supplier locations.

Education / Experience

  • 5 years’ experience in a product or process development technician role, or 5 years as a senior process operator, assuming a drive and willingness to learn and succeed.
  • Minimum of a diploma or equivalent in an engineering or technological discipline.
