Senior Manager, GPO and Contracts

What is the role?
The Senior Manager, GPO and Contracts (SMGC) will be a key driver of revenue growth through strategic leadership of Aerogen’s Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDN) contracting initiatives. This role is pivotal in shaping and executing the commercial contracting strategy for North America, ensuring that Aerogen secures favorable terms, drives compliance, and builds strong relationships with key accounts in the healthcare industry.
As an individual contributor, the SMGC will use strong leadership through influence to collaborate across multiple departments, including Commercial Excellence, Sales, Marketing, Legal, Finance, and Operations. This is a highly visible, customer-facing position, representing Aerogen with some of the healthcare sector’s largest and most critical accounts. Your expertise will help elevate Aerogen’s presence within GPOs, IDNs, and other vital healthcare touchpoints.
What are the key responsibilities?
• Lead and drive Aerogen’s GPO and IDN contracting strategy across the U.S. and Canada.
• Manage end-to-end contract negotiation processes in direct collaboration with Corporate Accounts leadership, ensuring alignment on strategic goals.
• Prepare, review, and respond to new and existing contracts with healthcare organizations, distributors, and GPOs, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
• Owner of commercial terms contract redlines and amendments using established contracting methods and processes.
• Respond to RFPs, RFIs, bids, and tenders for North America, ensuring Aerogen is positioned competitively.
• Oversee customer contract access validation, GPO membership verification, and the monitoring of volume commitments for tiered pricing agreements.
• Drive customer pricing strategies, including the development of pricing databases and quoting tools, while ensuring smooth execution of price change notifications.
• Lead the rebate and administration fee reporting processes, ensuring accurate and timely submissions.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers on pricing and contractual matters, engaging with GPO and IDN executives, supply chain professionals, contract administrators, and clinicians.
• Operate as a subject matter expert on U.S. & Canadian contracts, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive results.
• Develop and implement strategic business plans to enhance GPO compliance, mobilize sales teams, and foster collaboration across field teams.
• Represent Aerogen at key industry events and tradeshows, networking with GPO stakeholders and identifying new business opportunities.
• 65% travel required across North America.
• Continuously enhance internal training materials related to contracts, pricing, and other relevant areas to support team growth and development.
What education and experience are required?
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience:
• 6-10 years of experience in medical device sales, with a strong understanding of GPO and IDN contracting.
• 3-5 years of healthcare corporate account experience.
• Proven expertise in contract negotiation and redlining processes.
• Demonstrated track record of exceeding sales targets and driving high-impact results.
• Strong presentation skills with the ability to engage and influence key decision-makers.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel. Experience with contract management tools is a plus.
• Clinical background or experience working with healthcare professionals is a plus.

• Existing relationships within the healthcare sector, especially with managed care organizations, are highly desirable.
