Senior Maintenance Technician

What is the role?
The person in this role is responsible for maintaining, developing, and implementing efficient production processes that deliver consistent quality and maximise production volume. The successful candidate will have a strong data driven mindset, capable of analysing and troubleshooting existing processes to identify areas for improvement, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize production and meet business goals.
What are the key responsibilities?
• Work with the Manufacturing team to manage and prioritize assignments ensuring customer demand and the production schedule are met.
• Ownership of Preventative maintenance planning and execution.
• Take the lead in Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting of equipment and process issues.
• Cataloguing, methodically and accurately, line performance & down-time issues to aid resolution measures and communicating critical downtime events and leading the resolution processes, including yield improvement.
• Supporting Product failure investigations as part of yield improvements.
• Participate in project teams contributing to Engineering, Safety, Quality and Continuous Improvement targets.
• Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and legislative requirements including wearing PPE and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene generally.
• Maintaining a high quality of record keeping in compliance with company systems including quality, safety, maintenance, compliance, and production planning.
• Training of Maintenance/Engineering staff and/or relevant Production Operators in correct use of process equipment and in product specifications.
• Perform other assigned tasks as directed by Manager or Head of Function.
What education and experience are required?
• Certificate or Diploma in an engineering or science discipline or similar relevant experience.
• Minimum 6 years’ experience within a similar role.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting ability.
• Strong technical report writing ability.
What key skills will make you great at the role?
• Technical Experience - Experience of sustaining and improving automated manufacturing processes.
• Understands diagnostic/investigative tools for identification of material and component variation in support of failure investigation.
• Strong Problem-Solving capability: you can conduct root cause analysis and experiments by applying problem solving methodologies and support the development of potential solutions to achieve improvements.
• Collaboration: Effective communication and interpersonal skills; written, verbal and presentation, for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working in medical device manufacturing with good understanding of EN ISO 13485:2016, EU-MDR, MDSAP and FDA requirements as these apply to this role.
• Highly motivated self-starter and capable of working in a dynamic environment with little supervision or daily direction.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
