Regional Sales Manager, Partner Led Markets - Southern Europe

What is the role?
This Regional Sales Manager, Partner Led Markets – Southern Europe is a key talent role within the region and reflects Aerogen’s ambition to further strengthen its performance in the region. The ideal candidate will be based in Paris (or Madrid/Barcelona). Indirect markets in the Southern Europe region play an important role in Aerogen’s global ambition alongside building a strong, sustainable team and a diverse, engaged and high potential talent base.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for the profitable development of Aerogen’s business and capabilities in the assigned territories with a particular focus on market entry and development of key strategic countries identified as key “Build” markets within Aerogen’s Global Commercial Strategy.
This leadership position is a key role for the business in a high growth region and the incumbent should be considered to have potential to unlock the market, show the ability to build a sustainable business and be able to take on further commercial roles within the business.
What are the key responsibilities?
• Develop a compelling and profitable 5-year regional strategy including market prioritization, modality and segment assessment and prioritization, pricing and market access, channel management, new product development and commercialization.
• Develop and implement strategic plans for individual countries for key target markets. This may include establishing market presence through partners and developing Aerogen’s revenue and brand recognition in key markets.
• Ensure effective selection and management of distributor partners including objective setting, contract management, sales strategy alignment and regular quarterly performance management.
• Ensure close management, tracking and follow up of Aerogen’s partner teams and direct territory managers within the customer excellence framework including :
• Monitoring high potential account performance based on potential and ensuring operational execution. This includes systematic review of activities, market share growth and account development.
• Tracking customer sales and education activities against high potential accounts, utilising Pulse based sales and marketing tools
• Implementing regional medical and marketing customer programs
• Validating Sales training, including Pulse based LMS content
• Maintain strong customer engagement in key markets including systematic KOL engagement and close liaison with Medical Affairs to support and address necessary evidence gaps
• Collaborate with the Regulatory team to ensure effective prioritization of regulatory dossiers for market submission and approval
• Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to ensure accurate forecasting and effective supply chain management
• Effectively build, develop and lead high performing commercial teams ensuring high quality recruitment, performance management, engagement and coaching
• Engage, develop and retain the team by leveraging strengths, and identifying opportunities for development
• Create a safe environment, where employees feel encouraged to come up with new and innovative solutions to existing problems
• Inspire the team with a clear personal and department vision aligned with Aerogen’s ambition, helping them understand the impact of each individuals contribution to the organisations success and recognising efforts accordingly.
• Be part of the regional leadership team, role modelling strong collaborative cross functional work and maintaining Aerogen’s values
What education and experience are required?
• Bachelor’s degree. Post-graduate qualification in Business or Marketing preferred
• Strong track record in medical device sales, focused on demand & revenue generation, supported by financial results performance delivery and commercial sales management.
• Previous experience in distributed and direct commercial models
• Experience in respiratory therapeutic area including the acute care hospital setting preferred

• Must be fluent in English and/or French, Spanish or Italian.

• Strong insight into the mind of customer for growth across 5-year periods
• Experience in developing a compelling strategic vision and leveraging a Commercial Excellence system/platform to implement and drive territory & key account management, training, performance tracking analysis and partner/distributor management
• Clear, effective and engaging communication skills including the ability to analyse, critique and synthesize ideas and adapt, and coach others to adapt, the nature, tone, length and detail of communication to the audience.
• Displaying good judgement when it comes to business decisions, people and performance as well as ethical business behaviour
