Global Marketing Director

What is the role?   
The Global Marketing Director will be based in our headquarters in Galway and will be instrumental in shaping and executing comprehensive marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, enhance market penetration, and foster revenue growth across diverse international markets for Aerogen. This position requires a profound understanding of the medical device landscape and specialized knowledge in respiratory treatments/devices (or related field). The ideal candidate will possess a robust track record of success in global marketing or large regional leadership within the healthcare or medical device sectors. They will demonstrate the ability to translate complex technical features into compelling value propositions tailored to various stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, patients, and regulatory bodies. This role demands a visionary leader who can navigate market dynamics, build cross functional collaborations, and leverage insights to inform strategic decision-making, ultimately positioning the company for sustained growth and competitive advantage in a rapidly evolving industry.

What are the key responsibilities?   
Strategic Marketing Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive global marketing strategies that align with corporate objectives for aerosol drug delivery devices.
Market Analysis & Insights: Drive market research efforts to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics in the aerosol drug delivery space. Provide actionable insights to guide product development and market positioning.
Brand Management: In partnership with Global Comms, help define and communicate the global brand strategy for the aerosol drug delivery portfolio, ensuring consistency across regions while tailoring to local market needs.
Product Launches: Partner with New Product Commercialization on global launch strategies for new products, working closely with cross-functional teams (R&D, regulatory, sales, and medical affairs) to ensure successful product introductions in key markets.
Digital Marketing & Content: Develop and oversee digital marketing strategies, including online campaigns, SEO, social media, and content marketing, to drive awareness and engagement within the healthcare community.
Key Opinion Leader (KOL) Engagement: Cultivate relationships with global thought leaders, clinicians, and industry experts to enhance product credibility and adoption within the medical community.
• Budget Management: Oversee global marketing budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources for maximum ROI on marketing initiatives.
Regulatory & Compliance Coordination: Ensure all marketing materials and strategies comply with local and international regulations, working closely with regulatory and legal teams.
Value Strategy: Build competencies and create excellence in market access strategies, contracting, pricing and HEOR where there is a strengthening required.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with product development, regulatory, and regional teams to align marketing efforts with broader corporate goals and ensure successful commercialization.
Performance Tracking & Reporting: Establish KPIs and regularly report on the performance of marketing strategies, adjusting plans to meet dynamic market conditions and business objectives.
People Leadership: Set a vision and clear expectations with your team. Identify strengths and leverage those strengths across the team and the organisation. Develop each individual in the team and guide the team on a path to high performance. 

What education and experience are required? 
• A high-quality bachelor's degree.
• Extensive experience in a marketing, sales or commercialisation in a relevant field.

What key skills will make you great at the role?  
• Experience in respiratory medical device segments or closely related field, including customer & patient segment and competitor and partner product offerings.
• Expertise in developing and executing global marketing strategies in highly regulated industries.
• Strong demonstrable experience in managing a team with a high level of competency in coaching, talent management and performance management/enablement.
• Strong understanding of the healthcare ecosystem, including pharmaceutical partnerships, regulatory constraints, and clinical applications.
• Data-driven decision-maker with strong analytical skills and experience in market research and insights.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience with digital marketing platforms and tools, including CRM systems, SEO, and content marketing.
• Global Mindset: Demonstrated success working in international markets, with a strong understanding of cultural differences and regulatory requirements.
• Effective internal stakeholder management and cross functional influencing is a critical requirement for this role.
• Good level of financial and analytical capability enabling rapid assimilation of key data to develop strong business cases including relative prioritization.
• Ability to drive business results whilst ensuring effective collaborative cross functional engagement and influencing including customers, key internal stakeholders, and senior management.
• Entrepreneurial mindset to drive business performance, improve business processes and cross functional team performance.
• Ability to examine, critique and synthesize inputs and ideas, and adapt the length and detail of communication to different audiences.
• High level of self-awareness and desire to learn and develop.
• Demonstrable track record of displaying good judgement in business decisions and ethical business behaviour.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Teams) and ability to interrogate databases for data analysis.
