Supply Chain Manager - Logistics and Shipping

What is the role?
Aerogen is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supplier Chain Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of our logistics and shipping operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating, managing, and optimising Aerogen's transportation, shipping, and distribution activities to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products to customers. This position requires excellent organizational skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage and lead a team of logistics professionals.
What are the key responsibilities?
• Oversee the transportation and shipping operations of the company, including inbound and outbound logistics, freight forwarding, customs clearance, and warehousing.
• Develop and implement logistics strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize the company's supply chain operations and minimize costs.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure product availability and timely delivery to customers.
• Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, and other logistics service providers to ensure on-time delivery of goods and services.
• Manage and lead a team of logistics professionals, including shipping clerks, warehouse personnel, and logistics coordinators.
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers and vendors to ensure customer satisfaction and business continuity.
• Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
• Analyze logistics data and develop reports to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Maintain accurate records of all logistics and shipping activities.
• Coordinate the process and documents for logistics and supply chain related insurance claims.
What education and experience are required?
• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in logistics and shipping management, with a track record of success in managing complex logistics operations.
• Strong knowledge of transportation, shipping, and distribution procedures, regulations, and best practices.
• Experience managing a team of logistics professionals.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in using logistics software and technology.
• Knowledge of import/export regulations and customs clearance procedures.
• Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations.
