North America Communications Manager

What is the role? 

The North America Communications Manager will be responsible for creating Aerogen brand awareness strategy and generating leads that lead to broad adoption and utilization of Aerogen technology in North America. This individual will report to the Head of Marketing for North America. They will work in strong partnership with sales leadership, operations, global cross-functional partners and third-party vendors.

What are the key responsibilities? 


  • North America Market Interest Strategy: Define customer targets with broader commercial team. Create a strategy within the Challenger Marketing framework with spark, introduce and confront to tell the Aerogen story. Use the right promotional tools, messaging, and cadence to reach prospective customers and generate demand through understanding, acceptance, and adoption of the Aerogen solution
  • Global Collaboration: Partner closely with Global Corporate Communications Manager to ensure we are aligned and drive clear communication for North American customers
  • Customer Communications: Develop an ongoing customer communication plan and program to translate product marketing goals into defined marketing communications strategies to encourage better utilization of Aerogen within North America. Plan and execute through owned and paid media channels with the use of analytics to assess performance.   • Content Calendar: Develop and implement a content calendar to continuously feed information to customers. Content includes articles, emails, videos, white papers, infographics, and others, and is rolled out via website, social medial, ongoing email campaigns, etc. Build this tool into the customer communication plan and interact with Global Corporate Communications Manager, to ensure it is in line for global brand guidelines and tone of voice for Aerogen
  • Internal Communications: Keep internal and external stakeholders aware of project status and any challenges, support internal communications initiatives, and maintain corporate communications standards. Engage with global marketing communications for North American engagement and implementation of Aerogen Values, Connect, Town Halls, CEO update meetings, AeroHub Intranet, pledge 1% and any other shared communications programs
  • Marcom Approval: Lead the North American engagement with the Marcom Approval process to facilitate approval of marketing claims, tools and collateral etc.
  • Project Management: Run the day-to-day execution of initiatives supporting the downstream marketing team, improving North American internal processes, and developing solutions to support marketing objectives
  • Campaign Management: Evaluate campaigns and tactics in-market for effectiveness and shift resources to maximize ROI. Proactively identify and improve data collection strategies to measure performance of marketing activities
  • Digital Strategy: In collaboration and alignment with the Global Corporate Communications Manager, lead the North American digital strategy and execution across various digital channels including website and social media
  • Website: Manage the content on the North America website and make ongoing improvements and updates within a content management system. Track leads and website traffic. Explore ways to improve effectiveness of our website to better drive awareness and adoption of Aerogen technology
  • Customer Promotion Kit: Work directly with Aerogen provider customers to leverage their use of Aerogen for further exposure through social media and PR. Build a “Promotion Kit” for new customers that they can use to tout their use of Aerogen to their customers
  • Public Relations: Develop ideas for contributed articles and regular customer facing press releases about Aerogen (North America). Factor these into broader market awareness strategy
  • KOL Strategy Support: Integrate KOL strategy with broader marketing team into our communications plan and showcase customer engagement activities and outputs
  • National Customer Facing Events: Coordinate participation in events, event displays, all promotion and lead generation activities
  • Regional Customer Facing Events: Coordinate customer facing messaging for regional conferences and events. Work with local sales reps and broader team to align on communication strategy and drive execution

What education and experience are required? 

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Previous work experience in a similar role in MedTech
  • Minimum of 8+ years of relevant marketing communications experience
  • Demonstrated leadership in leading and working on cross-functional teams
  • Must be energetic, self-motivated, detail-oriented, creative, strategic and highly accountable
  • Must have excellent communication – written and oral, and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, prioritize assignments and multi-task
  • Proven experience in creating a strategic work plan and executing programs to achieve specific goals
  • Experienced in working cross-functionally with people with diverse backgrounds
  • Must have excellent computer skills with an emphasis on creating effective presentations; able to work in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel ~25% of the time
  • Hands-on experience with project management and budgeting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel & PowerPoint

What key skills will make you great at the role?

  • Experience managing a MarCom firm strongly preferred
  • Experience in respiratory therapeutic area and the acute care hospital setting
  • Experience within a global manufacturing organization, including exposure to R&D/Engineering, Sales/Marketing, Medical Affairs and Operations/Manufacturing.
  • Experience in working with range of internal stakeholders locally and globally; including sales, marketing, operations, analytics and more
