Director of Pharmaceutical Development

What is the role? 
Based in our San Mateo, CA USA Headquarters for Aerogen Pharma, the Director of Pharmaceutical Development will manage key aspects of the development of Aerogen Pharma’s synthetic surfactant drug product, including managing drug and device supply and associated analytics for development, preclinical, and clinical studies, product characterization, and fostering related supplier relationships.

 What are the key responsibilities? 

The role of Director of Pharmaceutical Development will include:

  • Drug formulation development, using external contract laboratories, when required
  • Analytical Method Development, using external contract laboratories, when required
  • Drug & Device (through Aerogen Ltd) supply management for development
  • Drug and device supply management for Aerogen Pharma surfactant pre-clinical and clinical studies
  • Management of contract suppliers and formulation development laboratories
  • Writing/Review of Technical Reports, contribution to assembly of Budgets/Timelines
  • Writing and contributing to regulatory filings for Aerogen Pharma surfactant products

What education and experience are required? 

  • PhD or equivalent in Pharmaceutics or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in pulmonary product development across several development phases
  • Proven experience with management of third party CDMOs and development laboratories.
